The original signed contract that founded Apple Computer on April 1st, 1976 sold for $1.3 million at auction, or $1,594,500 after taxes and fees. The six-page bundle was only expected to draw bids between $100,000 and $150,000.

The buyer is listed as Eduardo Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros Corp. and one of the wealthiest families in South America. The stack of documents is signed by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne and includes both the legal papers that established Apple Computer Company as well as Wayne's April 12th, 1976 Statement of Withdrawal — a move that relinquished his 10 percent stake in the company that would have been valued at about $2.6 billion in 2010 monies.
