How to create cartoon-like educational videos?
I am working on a project and need to create videos similar to this one:

Could someone point me which tools I can use to accomplish this on a Mac? Can this be done using Apple Keynotes? I am proficient in using Keynotes, and do not have Final Cut Pro software.

This one worked great! Exactly what I was looking for...
Others quoted me close to $20K for a 4 minute cartoon video!
Thanks

My guestement was not far off. The 1 minute video about 50 hrs @$100/hr is $5,000 at minimum. I have seen a similar question on a cameraman site and asked one of my cameraman clients and this is what he suggested.

Wow, the price of a brand new car...
One good answer pays for the membership here :)

1 answer = membership per month?
You saved $20 grand, I meant that more than pays for whatever membership costs. In any case, you get unlimited answers...so keep making new questions!
Good luck on your project!

Yes, I agree.

The rest is done in post. Speeding up, zoom. The sound and sound effects are done in editing.
This is one of those things that looks easy but is more complex than you think. It would be worth the effort to get some outside bids if you have never done this before.
Otherwise first you want to budget your time & materials:
1) Script and storyboards 10hrs to 20hrs
2) Rent camera and lighting for the day. ($500 to $1500)
3) Hire somebody that can draw ?
4) Shoot 1 minute video 5 to 10 hrs
5) Editing 7 to 14 hours min
6) Hire voice over talent $500 to $1000
7) Final editing
It would be very easy to plunk down 50 hrs and a few grand of out of pocket money to do this on your own. You can search on your own but I found some companies that do this below.
One option for you would be to use your keynote to create drawings as one off's, then use some type of animation software http://boinx.com/istopmotion/mac/ where you essentially make a flip book. This will be less expensive than above but the live action hand drawing is what makes things things in my opinion. While this method is going to be easier and not take the same advanced skill set, you will still need to plan on a weeks time to plan, created and finalize. Remember you can use iMovie for basic editing and I have used garage band to edit sound.
Good luck on your project. These things are fun, just budget your proposal wisely.
