I've got a start up business that will soon launch. It's a tech-startup and the entire business relies on the website. <br />

I've currently got three EC2 instances setup, one development Windows 2008 server and two Amazon servers with php,mysql and apache that are load balanced. I also have one RDS instance that was created in the VPC. <br />
<br />
My question is, based on the fact that this business relies heavily on the Website and it's hosting, should I put the EC2 instances in the VPC also? Is that what you would do?<br />

Cloud computing, also known as on-demand computing, is a kind of Internet-based computing where shared resources and information are provided to computers and other devices. It is a model for enabling ubiquitous, on-demand access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources. Cloud computing and storage solutions provide users and enterprises with various capabilities to store and process their data in third-party data centers, relying on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale.

Cloud Computing

The Apache HTTP Server is a secure, efficient and extensible server that provides HTTP services in sync with the current HTTP standards. Typically Apache is run on a Unix-like operating system, but it is available for a wide variety of operating systems, including Linux, Novell NetWare, Mac OS-X and Windows. Released under the Apache License, Apache is open-source software.

Apache Web Server

A web server refers to the software that helps to deliver web content that can be accessed either through the Internet or through an intranet. Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a collection of remote computing services, also called web services, that make up a cloud-computing platform  operated from 11 geographical regions across the world. The most central and well-known of these services include Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, also known as "EC2", and Amazon Simple Storage Service, also known as "S3". Other services include Elastic MapReduce (EMR), Route 53 (a DNS web service),  provides a highly available and scalable Domain Name System (DNS) web service, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), storage, database, deployment and application services.
