User can't access internet
A Windows 7 PC won’t let the user whose desk it is on, access internet. I have tried using both Internet Explorer and Firefox. Both browsers are the latest version. I can, however, gain access to the internet as Administrator and both the other two standard users that I tried. I can use either Firefox or IE without any problems.
As I was trying to troubleshoot this problems my Sophos Antivirus popped up a warning about three different virus/malware applications that are now quarantined but doesn’t have any fix available for them. I tried to go in and manually remove them but I can’t follow the path that is given. Two of these are in the documents and settings of my superintendent. (I don't know if that is why he can't access the internet) The viruses and the path given are as follows:
Mal/FakeAvJs-A C:\Documents and Settings\lsayer\local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\W2612AQL \ggilk[1]. htm
Mal/ENc Pk-ZQ C:\ Documents and Settings\lsayer\Temp\tue0. 0982277336 3136011.ex e
Mal/Generic-S C:\System Volume Information\_restore (7471DDEE-C517-42CF-B462-8 B6EFD18CC5 }\RP359\A0 452534.dll
I need to know how to clean these up and how to get internet access back for my Super.

The above articles will probably help you remove the malware. Check to see if there is a Proxy set in your browser. If so remove it and you may be able to gain access to the Internet. Also check the hosts file on the PC to see if there are erroneous entries in there, Unless you have set something there is usually nothing other than an example. Host file can be found at c:\windows\system32\driver s\etc. It has no extension, but is a simple text file.
@jhyiesla - one of the many great features of "RogueKiller" (created by EE Expert Tigzy) are the autofixes for several common symptoms.
HOSTS Fix is Menu Option #3 and
Proxy Fix is Menu Option #4
Pretty spiffy stuff (to use an old phrase).

Thanx...I'll keep that in mind the next time we get hit.
